Two Chinese helicopters violate Indian air space

Leh, Aug 31: Amid the increased tension between India and China, two Chinese helicopters reportedly violated the Indian air space in Leh area of north Jammu and Kashmir in the recent months.

While hovering in the Indian airspace the helicopters air-dropped some canned food in barren land at Chumar, northeast of this Himalayan town, along the Indo-Sino border.

The incidents came to light when the residents of living along the Pangong lake reported it to the nearby defence post. With this, the Army Aviation Corps rushed its Cheetah and Chetak helicopters.

However, sources revealed, that the troops were not able to find any evidence proving that the Chinese helicopters had been there on Jun 21 2009.
