Fire at Andhra Pradesh High Court

Hyderabad, Aug 31 (ANI): A fire broke out in the Andhra Pradesh High Court building in the wee hours on Monday.

According to sources, the fire started around 4. am. in the second floor of the court which houses library and lockers of the advocates.

Over 10 fire tenders extinguished the flames after battling it for about five hours.

Fire personnel suspect that a short circuit triggered by the lightning may have caused the fire. However, actual cause of fire is yet to be ascertained.

The court will remain closed at least for two days to take stock of the damage. (ANI)

Nablus (West Bank), Dec 22: Gunmen loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas of Fatah opened fire on Hamas members in the occupied West Bank today, wounding at least two people, hospital officials and witnesses said. They said the gunmen opened fire as about 200 Hamas activists and armed men were preparing for a rally in the city of Nablus. There was no immediate comment from Fatah. Violence between the rival factions has erupted since.....

Japan shuts units at top nuke plant after quake

Tokyo, July 16: Tokyo Electric Power Co has shut down three major generators at the world's biggest nuclear power plant after today's powerful earthquake in Japan caused a brief fire in one of the units, company officials said. The company, Asia's biggest utility, said there there was no radiation leakage at the facility after a fire hit a transformer at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa No 3 nuclear generation unit. The fire was quickly extinguished, it said......
