New Delhi, Aug 31: Expelled BJP leader Jaswant Singh on Monday, Aug 31, was asked by the party to resign as the chairman of Parliament's Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
BJP felt that Singh had assumed the PAC office as a member of the party so now not being in the party, Singh should resign.
Top BJP leaders including Deputy Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj met Jaswant at his residence on Monday, Aug 31.
The Parliament appoints a 22-member Committee on Public Accounts to examine the annual finance accounts of Government of India. The committee has 15 members from the Lok Sabha and seven members from Rajya Sabha.
On Wednesday, Aug 19, Jaswant Singh was expelled from BJP for supporting Jinnah in his book called Jinnah: India, Partition, Independence.
