RSS's Ram Madhav rules out working on BJP succession plan

New Delhi, Aug 29 (ANI): National Executive Committee member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Ram Madhav on Saturday ruled out any succession plan for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) being drawn up or discussed between the Sangh and party leaders.

Speaking outside the Sangh headquarters after a meeting between the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L.K. Advani and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Madhav said, "No...No...succession plan being drawn or discussed in the meeting of the Sangh and the BJP leaders. It's all your speculation."

"The meeting between the BJP leaders and the Sangh chief is a routine activity and they are discussing the issues related to party's internal development and also issue related to national importance," Madhav said.

He added that "The exchange of views and opinion among the Sangh subordinate is a continuous process, accordingly leaders of various units of the Sangh are coming here to meet Bhagwatji, and there is no need to speculate about the change of leadership in the BJP."

Apart from Advani, the international Chairman of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Ashok Singhal and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister B.C. Khanduri also met Bhagwat on Saturday.

In a rare press meet on Friday, Bhagwat, ruled out of the RSS being a back seat driver for the BJP, and asked the BJP to resolve its internal issues quickly.

Accepting the fact that the party is passing through a tough time since its formation, Bhagwat expressed confidence that " the party may rise from its own ashes."(ANI)
