Satyam BPO bags big project, to hire 300 employees

New Delhi, Aug 27: After securing a major project from a domestic client for providing it back office support, the BPO wing of Satyam is all set to recruit up to 300 personnel by Sep 2009.

“To support the client we have already hired 700 employees in the last one month and will hire another 300 by the end of next month," Mahindra Satyam BPO CEO Vijay Rangineni said.

However, Mr Rangineni refused to disclose any details about the deal.

Some reports suggest that the new project is in the telecom space.

This project comes as the first major win by Mahindra Satyam's BPO wing in the domestic space and Mr Rangineni said that the company plans to focus on the domestic market.
