Raje asked to quit as Oppn leader within 3 days

Vasundhara Raje
New Delhi, Aug 26: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Rajnath Singh asked senior Rajasthan leader Vasundhara Raje to resign as leader of opposition within three days.

A Party source said, "She (Raje) has been asked to resign by Aug 28 and not to chair a meeting of the party's legislators on Wednesday, Aug 26 when a session of the state assembly begins."

"She wants a respectable exit. She has made three conditions to resign. (The conditions she has laid down are) that she be given a plum organisational post, the suspension of the two MLAs should be revoked and the new leader of opposition be of her choice," source said.

Sources also said that Rajnath Singh had asked her to reign first before her demands were even considered.

Earlier, Vasundhara Raje had refused to step down from the post, stating that she alone could not be held responsible for the party's poll debacle in the state.
