Shourie stands by his concerns for BJP, dismisses charges of 'publicity stunt'(Lead: Shourie)

New Delhi, Aug 24(ANI): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Arun Shourie on Monday said that the issues that he has raised are the concerns he has been raising for the last three years, and dismissed charges that he has been doing it for publicity.

"Is the BJP a private company? Why are we not heard? This is ridiculous. I have been saying these things since the last three years," Shourie said.

"I have pointed out to the top leaders about the problems in the party both directly and indirectly. But, there has been no development. Let them take action against me but its wrong to say I am seeking publicity," he added.

Shourie further said that it was wrong to remove B C Khanduri and it was wrong of the party to consider removing Vasundhara Raje from the post of the Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan despite 57 MLAs standing by her.

Shourie also asked who would take the moral responsibility for the defeat of BJP in the Lok Sabha polls and said there was a lack of strong leadership in the party and no action was being taken against corrupt leaders in the party.

He also raised the issue of BJP expelling its senior leader Jaswant Singh from the party for praising Muhammad Ali Jinnah and denigrating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel which the BJP found was against the party line.

Shourie said that nobody has read the book and were making fuss unnecessarily.

"The book was released at 7.30pm and the party gave a statement at 8.30pm. Who read the book?" Shourie asked. (ANI)
