Sharad Yadav disapproves ban on Jaswant Singh's book on Jinnah

New Delhi, Aug 24(ANI): Sharad Yadav leader of Janata Dal (United), an ally of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday said that he disapproved of the ban imposed on the book written by former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh, 'Jinnah - India, Partition, Independence'.

"In a democracy, there should not be a ban on any kind of writing, speech and expression. I don't approve of the ban. I feel that there should be no ban on anything in this country," Yadav said.

When asked about the issue of expulsion of Jaswant Singh from BJP, Yadav said: "It is their internal matter, to enforce discipline or not is their internal matter, their party is different and our party is different."

BJP expelled Singh from the party on August 19, as he praised Muhammad Ali Jinnah and denigrated Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in his book, which it found was against the party line. (ANI)
