Nine killed in bus-lorry collision in Tamil Nadu

Krishnagiri, Aug 24 (ANI): At least nine people were killed and three others injured when a bus collided with a lorry near Sulagiri in Tamil Nadu's Krishnagiri District in the wee hours on Monday.

The victims included the driver and conductor of the state-run bus.

All injured were taken to Bangalore, police said.

Traffic on the National Highway was held up for more than 90 minutes due to the accident. (ANI)

Baghdad, Dec 30: A US soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in Baghdad, the US military said today, bringing the number of US military deaths in Iraq since the beginning of the war to at least 2,996. Hajipur (Bihar), Dec 30: At least 40 people were feared killed when a private bus jumped the rallings of Mahatma Gandhi Setu over the Ganga and plunged into the river early today. Colombo, Dec 29: Two people were wounded in a blast in a van on the outskirts of the Sri Lankan capital today, the military said. ''There was a van parked there, there was an explosion, we are investigating what actually happened,'' Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe told Reuters. The incident took place in Wattala, 10 km north of Colombo, he said. The van driver was among the two injured. Suicide bombings, mine attacks and clashes.....
