London, Aug 23(ANI): Jamaican sprinter and Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt has said that he wants British actor Jason Statham to play him in a movie of his life.
"I can never remember his name, but he has been in The Transporter and The Italian Job," The Daily Star quoted Bolt, as saying.
Snubbing black actors Will Smith and Anthony Mackie, the sprinter said that the lesser-known Statham was his ideal screen double, as he admired his work in The Italian Job and The Transporter.
"You would think he would have chosen a black actor like Will Smith, but Usain is a complete maverick," a source said.
"He must be aware that Statham is a white actor but, who knows, he must think he would still make a believable screen double. No doubt Jason will be surprised if he ever landed the role," he added.
Statham made his name in Guy Ritchie's smash-hit Brit flick Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels. He had met Ritchie while working in the clothes shop French Connection. (ANI)
