Raj: Minors forced to donate blood by Cong MLA

Jaipur, Aug 22: A village in Rajasthan paid a unique tribute to the assassinated former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi on his 65th birth anniversary. School kids from Chomu village were reportedly forced to donate blood by a local Congress MLA.

The MLA, Bhagwan Sahay Saini who allegedly organised a camp at the village forced children below the age of 18 to donate blood.

The incident came to light when a 15-year-old boy fainted after donating blood.  The boy identified to be Anil Sharma was later taken to SMS hospital in Jaipur where his condition stabilised.

Even after learning that the boy was a minor and had recently recovered from jaundice, the personnel at the camp went ahead and took his blood, said Anil's father.

Angered by this the residents joined protests started off by BJP. Agitating members of student wing of BJP, ABVP burnt effigies of Saini.

However, Saini has denied the allegations and also clarified that the camp was administered by trained medical professionals, who completed the required formalities before collecting the blood.
