Obama loves eating mangoes says student reporter

Barack Obama
Washington, Aug.16: Damon Weaver, the 11-year-old Floridian who interviewed President Barack Obama on Thursday, Aug 13 said that the most powerful leader in the world loves the simple pleasures of life like eating mangoes.

Revealing the favourite part of his interview, Weaver told Politico it was his conversation with Obama about school lunches.

"I suggest that we have French fries and mangoes every day for lunch. ... I love mangoes," Weaver told Obama during their conversation.

Obama replied, "I love mangoes, too, but I'm not sure we can get mangoes in every school. They only grow in hot temperatures and there are a lot of schools up north where they don't have mango trees."

Weaver was back at the White House on Friday, Aug 14 making the television rounds to discuss his exclusive sit-down. "I was a little nervous on the interview," Weaver said between live shots.

After submitting a request to interview Obama and waiting more than a year, Weaver found out he'd been granted an interview on Wednesday, Aug 12.

Obama even agreed to be Weaver's 'homeboy', after the young reporter asked the president whether he could count him among his friends, such as Biden.
