Bangalore reports fourth Swine Flu death

Bangalore, Aug 16: A 26-year-old woman died of Swine Flu in Bangalore on Sunday, Aug 16, taking the death toll in the city to four.

The deceased has been identified as Shamshad Begum was admitted to Baptist Hospital on Aug 10 with fever and signs of pneumonia.

Media reports said that she did not respond to medication, her condition worsened with signs of breathlessness setting in, doctors sent her throat swab samples to NIMHANS suspecting swine flu.

Dr Abraham Chandy, chief of medical staff said, "She had a heart problem and was suffering from pneumonia. We had sent samples to NIMHANS, which confirmed the H1N1 virus."

The patient succumbed before the test results for from the centre could confirm she had contracted the deadly Swine Flu.

Earlier, on Saturday, Aug 15, a 28-year-old man became the third victim of Swine Flu in Karnataka and 15 confirmed cases of H1N1 virus were reported, health officials said.

Manjunath, who was suffering from fever and respiratory problem for the past ten days, was admitted to a hospital here on August 13, they said.

The deadly swine flu is still spreading all over the country, very recently in Jaipur as heard there are 72 deaths. Media have stopped the news about the Swine flu, this make people to imagine worst than the actual situation. We all really wonder why government has curbed the media - ? Peter
