Tamiflu Resistant H1N1 Case in Hong Kong
Hong Kong, Aug 15: Even as the the world leaders try to calm the people who continue to panic over Swine Flu, Hong Kong has reported its Tamiflu-resistant case of H1N1 virus or Influenza A.

With this new revelation made by the Center for Health Protection of Hong Kong on Friday, Aug 14 the number of Tamiflu-resistant influenza A/H1N1 reported to the World Health Organization goes up to seven.

This latest case is that of a 40-year-old woman was given doses of Tamiflu since Jul 15 after some of her family members fell ill. But on Jul 21, she developed symptoms like fever, cough and sore throat on after which she was sent to a hospital where she tested positive for Swine Flu or H1N1 influenza.

The laboratory tests showed that her virus sample was resistant to Tamiflu. However, the health authorities said that there is no sign of this virus strain spreading in the country.
