Terry reveals why he was cool on Man City bid

London, Aug.12 (ANI): England and Chelsea FC skipper John Terry has claimed that the offer made to him by Manchester City was not tempting enough for him to quit Chelsea.

There was around 300,000-pounds-a-week on the table for Terry to go to Eastlands during a summer, but, unlike the Blues, City was not in the Champions League.

Speaking publicly about City's bid for the first time, The Sun quoted Terry, as saying: "If I'd been tempted I'd have gone.

I was flattered but that was it. The bid was 28 million pounds but I don't know what kind of figures would have been thrown at me. I got a call from Peter Kenyon and told him I was flattered but I didn't want to leave."

Terry admitted, however, he wanted to be sure of Chelsea's desire to challenge for the big silverware and that meant keeping their best players. (ANI)
