H1N1 claims another life in Pune, toll up to 17

Pune, Aug 12: Pune reported another Swine flu death on Wednesday, Aug 12 taking the country's death toll up to 17.

A 48-year-old man identified to be Gautham Shalar who succumbed to the H1N1 virus in the afternoon, became the fourth Swine flu victim in 24 hours.

Totally, this is the tenth death in Pune alone.

Earlier, a 50-year-old woman, Nita Meghani and another man Balu Kuland died in Sasoon Hospital of Pune.

This comes as Maharashtra government tries to quickly take steps to contain the virus spread and prevent the deaths. Maharashtra stands as the worst affect state in the country with 12 out of the 17 Swine Flu deaths coming from the state.
