New Delhi, Aug 11: Many companies are on high alert for the Swine Flu or H1N1, say media reports. The companies have issued advisories to its employees asking them to stay at home if they are experiencing flu like symptoms, along with stocking up masks an appointing a doctor who will be available around the clock.

According to a report in Moneycontrol, US-based Perot Systems has one lakh masks in stock. It is also about to procure a temperature scanner as a precautionary measure.

Syntel Inc has given a two day paid leave to its employees who are travelling from countries like US and Mexico so that they can get tested for Swine Flu. The BPO has also advised its employees not to travel to Mumbai and Pune unless it is very urgent.

In the report, Mr N. NR Sharavanan, General Manager and Head (Administration) is quoted as saying that the company has set up a pandemic response team, along with taking steps to inform the employees about the flu through posters that are put up across the campus.

Times of India reports, similar steps taken by companies like Tata Tele Services (TTSL) and Hindustan Unilever, Godrej Industries, Essar group, Aditya Birla group and ICICI bank.
