Buta's son in judicial custody till Aug 12

Mumbai, Aug 5: A special court on Wednesday, Aug 5 rejected CBI demand for custody of Buta Singh's son and three others and remanded in judicial custody till Aug 12.

The court also posted their bail petitions for hearing on Thursday, Aug 6.

Judge S P Hayatnagar said, "I am rejecting CBI's demand for custody of all accused as sufficient time has been given for probe to the investigating agency...I also feel that further custodial interrogation is not necessary."

The other accused who have been arrested in the case are Anup Begi, Dukhsingh Chouhan and Madan Solanki.

They are facing charges for allegedly seeking Rs 1 crore bribe from Nashik-based contractor Rama Rao Patil to close a case pending before the National Commission for Scheduled Castes against him.

New Delhi, Jul 31: National Commission on Scheduled Castes Chairman and former union minister Buta Singh's son Sarbjot Singh has been detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation for allegedly taking bribe from a Nashik-based builder.Sarbjot Singh was arrested by the Anti Corruption Branch of the CBI on Thursday, Jul 30 and taken to Mumbai office to investigate.He was arrested for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 1 crore from a Nashik-based builder to get his name cleared from.....
