Guwahati kids use medium of drama to beat terrorism

Guwahati, Aug. 1 (ANI): Child artistes in Guwahati spread their messages of peace through the medium of drama at a recent three-day theatre festival here.

The young artistes expressed their thoughts on how humanity suffers irrespective of religion, creed and gender due to terrorism.

The kids executed the drama, right from its concept, to writing and choreographing it.

"Terrorism has overshadowed the entire country. So, as children we wanted to express our opinion on terrorism. Even if a fraction of people receive our message, it will benefit society," claimed Maharshi, a child artiste.

The festival was a unique opportunity for children to learn acting and enhance their confidence by performing in front of a packed audience.

"My aim is to become an actor. And, this was a good platform," said Vaishali, child artist.

The National School of Drama (NSD) and Kalakshetra organized the three-day festival to let children think about everyday issues that affect them the most and express their thoughts on these subjects.

Prior to the festival, about 100 children took part in a month-long drama training camp.
