Rita Joshi granted regular bail by court for speaking against Mayawati

Moradabad, July 29 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi was granted bail by a court here on Wednesday in a case relating to derogatory remarks made by her against Chief Minister Mayawati.

K.K. Mannan, the counsel of Joshi, told reporters that Judge Sudha Sharma granted the regular bail after Joshi furnishing a personal bond of Rs 20,000 and two sureties of Rs 20,000 each.

Earlier on July 18, Joshi was granted interim bail in the case after she complied with the order and furnished the personal bond and two sureties.

The Uttar Pradesh Police arrested Joshi on the charges of alleged derogatory remarks against Mayawati at a public rally in Moradabad on July 15.

UP Police charged Joshi with section 153 A for delivering inflammatory speeches and section 109 IPC for using abusive language and also under provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. (ANI)
