Praful Patel says Continental Airlines should have followed Indian laws on frisking

New Delhi, July 29 (ANI): Union Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel said on Wednesday airlines operating from India should follow the law of the land while frisking passengers in airports.

Referring to the recent controversy over the frisking of Former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam at Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi, by the Continental Airlines, Patel said, the rules of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) should be followed in India by all the airlines while operating from Indian airports.

Speaking to the media Patel said there was no issue with the US government as the Continental Airlines has apologised for frisking Kalam.

Patel said there were no issues with the US government the Continental Airlines has already apologized for its act.

When asked about the request of Air India for financial aid Patel ruled out saying its all rumor.

Recently a section of the media reported that the national carrier Air India asked for a Rs 20,000 crore capital infusion from the government,

Earlier there were reports that the carrier, struggling to cope with a cash crunch, sought an immediate loan of Rs 10,000 crore from the government and an annual capital infusion of Rs 2,500-3,000 crore for the next four-to-five years. (ANI)
