PM to reply in Lok Sabha over Indo-Pak joint statement

New Delhi, July 29 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is expected to make a short statement before the Lok Sabha today over the Indo-Pak joint statement issued in Sharm-el-Sheikh, Egypt, earlier this month.

The opposition has been demanding a discussion on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh's visit to Italy and Egypt following difference of opinion on Indo-Pak joint statement after Dr. Singh held talks with his Pakistani counterpart on the sidelines of the NAM summit.

The Congress Party openly backed Dr. Singh on the Indo-Pak joint statement.

Earlier, Dr. Singh said he had the answers to all the questions and would give them at an appropriate time.

It was reported that several Congress leaders, and some senior ministers, had serious reservations about the joint statement, especially on the de-linking of terror from the composite dialogue and the reference to Balochistan. (ANI)

Bhutto flayed for seeking intl help to probe

Islamabad, Oct 25: Flaying the demand for engaging foreign experts in the probe into Karachi blasts, Pakistan Information and Broadcasting Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani said former prime minister Benazir Bhutto ''wants to rule Pakistan while residing in London''. ''If Ms Bhutto wants to employ foreigners for the investigations, she should also seek votes from them and not from the Pakistani people,'' the Minister said. He said expressing doubts about national institutions and experts was equal to having distrust in the country.....
