PDP does not want any development for Kashmir, charges Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar, July 29 (ANI): Coming down heavily upon the People's Democratic Party (PDP) for creating a ruckus in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, Union Minister for Non-Renewable Sources of Energy Farooq Abdullah on Wednesday said the PDP does not want any development in the State.

"The PDP just wants to create chaos. They don't want any development for Kashmir and do not want to see the people prosper. First they attacked the Speaker and yesterday they took on the Chief Minister, this shows their intention," Abdullah said.

This statement came after the PDP sought a judicial probe into state Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's alleged involvement in the 2006 sex scandal.

On Tuesday, Omar Abdullah's father Farooq Abdullah said, "The PDP are a bunch of frustrated lot without any ethics."

Meanwhile, activists of the National Conference party and the PDP clashed with each other.

Activists and supporters of the National Conference took to streets protesting against the allegations, raised slogans and burnt effigy of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti.

"The allegations were totally unwarranted and uncalled for. Everybody here has known the character of Omar Abdullah from ages. Earlier, they raised Shopian incident. They just wanted to divert attention of the Assembly and made personal attack on Omar Abdullah," said Ghulam Ahmed Mir, leader of the National Conference party. (ANI)
