Lion and tigress in Chinese Wildlife Park set to produce first 'liger'

New Delhi, July 29 (ANI): A tigress and lion in a Chinese Wildlife Park have finally mated, and authorities now looking forward to first liger species.

The four-and-half-year-old tigress and the lion were deliberately kept in a single cage at the Badaling Wildlife Park in Beijing.

And it was after eight months of staying together that the two animals finally made love, reports the China Daily.

Zookeepers are now hoping for the park's very first liger sometime this year. (ANI)
