Patna, July 29 (ANI): Activists of the ruling Janata Dal (United) protested against Lok Janshakti Party Chief RamVilas Paswan by parading the donkeys here on Wednesday.
Donkeys were paraded as a mark of counter protest to Paswan's call to Jail Bharo (Fill the Prison) in Bihar to his supporters against the alleged stripping and beating of a girl in Patna, earlier this month.
Alongside the donkeys braying, the activists denounced Paswan by calling him as anti Dalit leader. The protestors contended that Paswan had lost his political base. Activists also burnt his effigy.
Speaking on this occasion senior JD (U) leader Shyam Rajak said, "By burning the effigy of Ram Vilas Paswan, we want to tell him that he does not represent any downtrodden class of society. He is the leader of only his family. Paswan should repent over it and we demand that he should retire from politics."
The activists of the LJP also held a demonstration and burnt the effigy of Chief Minster Nitish Kumar.
Bihar is witnessing protests and counter-protests, shut downs and rallies after the July 22 stripping of a girl in a glaring public view.
Nitish Kumar had ordered the transfer of a couple of senior police officers and suspends certain personnel from the police station under whose jurisdiction the incident took place.
On July 27, Paswan along with his party members took to the street protesting against the Nitish Government over the issue and clashed with the police. (ANI)
