Ramalinga Raju's comfortable jail life exposed

Ramalinga Raju
Hyderabad, Jul 27: A report in a Telugu daily has exposed the comfortable lives of Raju brothers imprisoned in relation to the Satyam Computers fraud.

Ramalinga Raju who is the architect behind the epic Rs 7,800 crore fraud is in Hyderabad's Chanchalguda Jail along with his brother and Satyam's former managing director, Rama Raju and others.

The newspaper that states that they have been in jail for over 200 days now, reveals the conditions that they are living under.

Eenadu in its Hyderabad city edition published on Monday, Jul 27 reported that Ramalinga Raju is getting facilities such as separate kitchen and shuttle court. The report alleges that the jail authorities are making these provisions for the accused illegally by accepting bribe from the businessmen.

Despite the jail rules that prohibit it, Ramalinga Raju is using cell phones, and laptops. To add on to this, Raju brothers are believed to be generously dispensing tips to their friends and relative over cell phones.

The culprits of the Satyam scam, who are entitled to just B class facilities, are in reality enjoying all possible facilities.

Their fight for better facilities during their imprisonment is being directed by a senior in jail- Venkateswara Rao. Venkateswara Rao, who was chairman of the Krishi co-op bank was arrested a few years ago in connection with 40 crores bank fraud. And he is reportedly the one who is guiding the Raju brothers on how to bribe jail officials to get more facilities.

About a year ago, a tabloid had published another expose on the jail life of Venkateswara Rao. That report stated that Rao was allowed to sleep with his wife all the night monthly once in jail.
