Infosys bags a 10 year government deal

New Delhi, Jul 22: Looks like the relationship between Infosys and government will not just end with Nandan Nilekani heading the government's Unique ID project. The company has revealed that it has bagged a contract to design, develop and support a portal for the ministry of commerce and industry.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Jul 21, the company said that duration of the contract is 10 years. The company, however, did not reveal the financial details of the deal.

The project is among the 27 Central, State and Integrated Mission Mode Projects (MMPs) under the National E-Governance Plan (NEGP) of the Indian Government.

For the project, the company will be developing the eBiz platform, establishing the support IT infrastructure, implementing, maintaining and expanding the eBiz solution and services for the next 10 years.

The company will also be handling training, workshops, promotion and awareness campaigns.

Biotechnology major Biocon forays into nephrology space

Bangalore, Mar 09:  Biotechnology major Biocon on Thursday forayed into the nephrology space with the launch of a portfolio of five renal therapy products for the domestic and global markets, which it said was cheaper compared to MNC drug prices. The new immunosuppressants for renal therapy are at least 35-40 per cent cheaper than the MNC drug prices in the similar product category, the company's Marketing Head Rakesh Bamzai said.The Bangalore-headquartered company's Chairman and Managing Director, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw said.....
