Beijing, Jul 22: The monsoon weather of India may have spoilt the eclipse viewing in India, but China still got the best view of the spectacle as expected.
The moon's shadow blocked the sun, rendering many places along the upper reaches of China's longest river, the Yangtze dark.

The eclipse that took place at around 9:15 am on Wednesday, Jul 22 left only the solar corona visible in west China's Chongqing Municipality.
The century's longest total solar eclipse lasted about four minutes in China. The country was the first to witness the eclipse.
All the landscape lights were switched off so that the public could view the eclipse clearly. Additional policemen were deployed and about 30 vessels were patrolling the coast.
