'KG Gas belongs to Govt, not Ambani brothers'

New Delhi, Jul 17: The Centre filed an affidavit on, what has now been come to known as, the RIL-RNRL gas dispute case on Friday, Jul 17.

While the Ambani brothers are fighting over the gas, the government said that the gas from the KG basin belonged to it.

The Union Petroleum Minister Murli Deora on Jul 12 said, "government has so much stake in it. Gas does not belong to either Mukesh or Anil Ambani. Gas belongs to government."

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy also said that the gas from Krishna-Godavari basin will be allotted to states by the Centre and not by Ambani brothers.

RIL discovers hydrocarbon in Cauvery basin

Mumbai, July 17: Energy major Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) today announced it had discovered hydrocarbon in the Cauvery deep-water basin. The compnay, which had acquired the block under the third exploration bidding, has sent the discovery notice to the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH). This is the first time a hydrocarbon discovery has been made in the Cauvery basin with an area of 14,235 sq. kilometer, which was awarded to RIL under NELP.....

GAIL, RIL sign MoU for exploring abroad

New Delhi, Dec 4: Country's largest gas transmission and marketing firm GAIL (India) Ltd and Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) today entered into an agreement to explore opportunities for setting up petrochemical complexes in feedstock-rich countries like the West Asia, Russia and former Soviet Union (FSU). A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by RIL Executive Director Nikhil R Meswani and GAIL Director (Business Development) A K Purwaha. The agreement was exchanged by Choubey and RIL Chairman and Managing Director.....

RIL divests 4.01 pc stake in RPL for Rs 4,023 cr

New Delhi, Nov 24: Mukesh Ambani-run Reliance Industries Ltd has said it has offloaded 4.01 per cent stake in its arm Reliance Petroleum Ltd (RPL) for Rs 4,023 crore. The company said in a statement that it has sold Rs 18.04 crore equity shares out of its holding of 75 per cent in RPL, which has now come down to 70.99 per cent.
