London, July 17 (ANI): England captain Andrew Strauss has warned Australia that he has 'unfinished business' and he would try to grind them into the Lord's pitch today.
Strauss, who batted through the opening day to reach an unbeaten 161, claimed there was more to come as he set his sights on his first Test double ton.
"Hopefully, there is unfinished business and I can go on and get some more runs tomorrow," the Herald Sun quoted Strauss as saying after England reached 6-364 at stumps on the first day at Lord's.
"We can't be satisfied with where we are at the moment, we need to push on tomorrow and there is no reason why our tail can't have a big impact on getting a really big score," he said.
Strauss, who passed 5,000 runs as he notched his highest Test score against Australia, claimed his big knock was vital to set an example to his side. In the first Test in Cardiff, almost every England batsman got a start but no one went onto make a century.
"In terms of setting an example for the batsman to score big when they get in, it was important," Strauss said.
"Also, as the captain, you don't want to be scratching around, not scoring runs.
"It is a special moment anytime you get an Ashes hundred and when it's at the home of cricket it is even more special," he said. (ANI)
