Third chargesheet in DDA scam by July 26

New Delhi, July 16(ANI): Union Minister of State for Urban development Saugata Roy on Thursday informed that Delhi Police will file a third chargesheet in connection with the DDA flat allotment fraud case by July 26.

"The third chargesheet is expected to be filed against two persons on or before July 26," Roy informed the Rajya Sabha today.

According to a senior police official, the new chargesheet is against two remaining accused, Vijay Verma and Jeetram.

Police has already filed two chargesheet in the case against six others, while investigations are on to ascertain whether anyone else is involved in the scam.

Investigators of the Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police's Crime Branch are awaiting expert opinion on some of the exhibits like hardware used for the draw of lots for allotment.

"Investigation is continuing to probe the role and involvement of other suspected persons and expert opinion on some exhibits sent for analysis is awaited," Roy added.

Earlier, eight people were arrested in connection with the scam, where a union of property dealers had conspired to bag DDA flats reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes by submitting forged documents in the name of people belonging to these communities. (ANI)

Devegowda releases chargesheet against Cong
