PM asks G8, G5 nations to push Pak to fight terror

Onboard airplane, Jul 11: Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh who was returning from the G8-G5 summit said that Pakistan was expected to act tough against the terrorism.  Even as Jul 11, 2009 marks the completion of three years after the 7/11 Mumbai train attacks, the Prime Minister has proved that fighting or rather eradicating terror is still a top priority for the Indian government.

Speaking on the meeting with his Pakistani counterpart, Yousuf Raza Gilani that is scheduled to happen on Saturday, Jul 18 he said "I am looking forward to meeting Prime Minister Gilani (in Egypt). I hope that out of that meeting, renewed reaffirmation on part of Pakistan that it will bring perpetrators of the Mumbai massacre to justice and that Pakistan's territory will not used for such activities. If that is done, we are willing to walk more than half the distance."

Dr Singh admitted that there has been some trouble dealing with Pakistan on Terrorism, 'but i have not given up hope', he said. "Our High Commissioner has spoken to the ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) chief and their foreign office. We are hopeful that they will move ahead in punishing those behind the Mumbai terror attack," he added.

He also urged the G8 and G5 nations at the summit to push Pakistan to fight terror and eradicate the world of its menace.

Al Qaeda No. 2 Zawahri appears in new video

New York, July 5: Al Qaeda's No. 2 commander appeared in a new video on a Web site used by Islamist militant groups, urging unity in jihad and calling for the overthrow of ''corrupt'' Muslim governments in the region.The English version of the title posted on the site was ''The Advice of One Concerned'' and the video showed the Egyptian cleric Ayman al-Zawahri wearing a white robe, speaking in Arabic with English sub-titles......
