Malaysian Government urged to give Indians more opportunities

Kahang (Malaysia), July 10 (ANI): The Malaysian Government should give more opportunities to the Indian community in the country's development projects, the Tamil Nesan quoted state assemblyman R. Vidyanathan, as saying.

The Indian community had not achieved its target although the Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) had helped in getting more opportunities for the community, he told the Johor state assembly on Thursday.

He said that the formation of more Rukun Tetangga branches with the involvement of all races would help to foster better friendship and understanding among the people.(ANI)

Malaysian Indian Congress leader sacked for criticizing party

Petaling Jaya (Malaysia), Jan.25 (ANI): Former Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) vice-president M. Muthupalaniappan has been sacked for making statements against the party.According to the Star, Muthupalaniappan was sacked more than a month after receiving a show cause notice from the MIC disciplinary committee following a complaint over his alleged statements in a Tamil newspaper on November 11, 2008 and on an Internet news portal on December 17, 2008.Party disciplinary committee chairman G. Vadiveloo said a letter was sent.....
