London, Jul 10 (ANI): It may sound bizarre, but a Brit family have sprayed urine on lampposts and trees in a bid to lure home their missing pet dog.
Simon, who is 10 years old, ran off from his home in Napier Road, Redland, Bristol, on July 4.
After he had disappeared, interior decorator Jonathan Baltesz, 44, wife Louise, 43, and their children Henry, 15 and Clara, 13, started searching the streets, putting up posters, and phoning rescue centres to find him.
But when that did not produce any results, they decided to take a more radical approach after a suggestion from a friend.
The Baltesz family bottled their urine to scent-mark the streets where they live, hoping that Simon the black Labrador will recognise the familiar smell of his owners and return home.
They have been sprinkling the diluted urine in places where the dog has been seen and laying a trail back home, with the help of friends and neighbours.
"I know it sounds bizarre and I'm embarrassed to mention it but it makes sense if you think about it," the Telegraph quoted Louise as telling the Bristol Evening Post.
"Simon may pick up our scent because dogs have an incredibly powerful sense of smell.
"Despite having two other dogs, the house is so quiet without him," she added. (ANI)
