Security forces seize huge cache of arms in Jammu and Kashmir

Poonch, July 9 (ANI): Security forces on Thursday busted a militant hideout at Dingla forest area near Line Of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition.

Acting on a tip off, the security forces launched a search operation and busted the hideout. The arms were brought into the country from across the border, police said.

"From a hideout near LOC we have recovered 33 Chinese grenades, 129 Ak rounds, 5 IED's, two rocket launchers and one bag. Explosives were destroyed at the spot. It was a joint operation launched by police and army and it's an achievement," said Kuldeep Kumar, Station House Officer (SHO) of Poonch.

Earlier, security forces had made similar recoveries in the region on May 31, June 2 and June 9, but had failed to nab any militants. (ANI)
