China violates ADB funding for Arunachal: Krishna

SM Krishna
New Delhi, Jul 9: The Centre informed the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, Jul 9 that China has recently raised objection on Asian Development Bank (ADB) funding, an irrigation project in Arunachal Pradesh which is 'clear violation' of the charter of multilateral lending agency.

S M Krishna, external affairs minister said, "India had made it clear to all member nations of ADB that political considerations cannot be cited for prohibiting the bank for evaluating any project."

He said, "China did not endorse the Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) 2009-12 for India in the board of the ADB on the ground that the proposed India CPS involved technical assistance funding for the Flood and River Erosion Management Project in Arunachal Pradesh which China claims is its territory."

"China's objection on political grounds is a clear violation of the ADB's charter which prohibits the Bank from evaluating any proposal on grounds other than economic," he said.

"We have put across (to China) in the strongest diplomatic language possible that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India," added.

India and China will meet in New Delhi next month to discuss the boundary issue, he said, "We certainly would like that China-India relationship is normal (and) extend the relationship to some kind of partnership."

China may be right in their claim when Lanka's claim on Tamil territory was acceptable earlier to INDIA. North Indians totally betrayed the faith of their own Tamils in alighning with the Lankan army to destroy the Tamils and now it is time India receive the same at the hands of China. The days are gone for ever and Tamils no longer see China as a untouchable. The Aryans do not want to see the Dravidians establish a land of thier own instead of suffering from racist singala govt. and India just kept quite when the tamils were routed and 300,000 thousand people went home and stateless. On the same ground now China demands its own territory and so nothing is wrong.
