Brit woman receives postcard from Greece 22yrs after it was sent

London, Jul 9 (ANI): A Brit woman is said to have received a postcard from a Greek Island 22-years after it was sent.

Wendy Bosworth, 64, a retired bookkeeper, from Wolverhampton, was surprised when the card, slightly damaged and in a sealed bag, dropped on her mat in Blackburn Avenue, Claregate.

Her niece Joanne Bosworth, who had been holidaying on the island of Nisyros in 1987, had posted the card. The postcard said about how the island was not affected by tourism and how the sea was beautiful and the people were very friendly," the Telegraph quoted Bosworth as saying.

"We had a joke when I spoke to Joanne and she said 'I wondered why you never said thank you'. She was amazed," she said.

Joanne is now 42, married and an Oxford graduate, and she recently completed her doctorate in African studies and now lives in Uganda where she works for the British Government.

"We would like to apologise for the delay," a spokesman for Royal Mail said.

"It's a bit of a mystery, I'm afraid, as we don't track items of ordinary mail but it's unlikely that it has been in our system for 22 years," he added. (ANI)
