Parents of killed student allege 'fake encounter'

Dehradun, Jul 4: The clashes between police and commoners seems to the trouble of the hour, after the Baramulla violence led by alleged police misbehavior with women it is now fake encounter in Dehradun. Police reportedly shot dead a management student on Friday, Jul 3 night.

Ranbir Singh, hailing from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh was killed by police in a firing. The family of the vicitm are now alleging foul play on the part of police.

The police on the other side are saying that Singh who was travelling with tow of his friends to join for a job in Dehradun argued with a constable who asked them to stop and then fled after snatching his service revolver.

The police claimed that they opened fire after being shot at. Singh was shot dead in the next checkpoint while two of his friends escaped.

However, the parents maintain that it was murder committed to win medals.
