Brit woman hangs herself on fishhooks as part of Paris shark protest

London, Jul 3 (ANI): A British woman took a drastic step to stress the threat of extinction facing sharks worldwide by piercing her skin with giant fish hooks, and hanging herself from the ceiling of a boutique in Paris.

Alice Newstead, an artist and animal rights activist, painted herself silver before piercing the skin of her shoulder blades with oversized shark fishing hooks on July 2, and then resting her feet in a harness, before she was hoisted up into the air, reports the Telegraph.

She spent 15 minutes suspended in the window of a Lush Cosmetics store in the south of the capital.

As passers-by walked along the busy boulevard, her skin stretched upward and streaked with blood.

The cosmetics company has linked up with the Sea Shepherd environmental organisation to campaign against over fishing, which is threatening sharks with extinction. (ANI)

Brit PM was thrashed at school
