Bhutan PM, Manmohan Singh to hold bilateral talks

New Delhi, July 1 (ANI): Bhutan Prime Minister Jigme Yoser Thinley will hold bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh at Hyderabad House here today.

Both leaders will look for ways to take the bilateral relations forward.

Thinley, who is on a four-day visit to India, will also hold talks with External Affairs Minister S. M. Krishna.

He will also call on President Pratiba Patil, meet Finance Minister Pranab Mukerjee, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition, L. K. Advani.

Thinley visited India last year after taking over as Bhutan's first democratically elected Prime Minister. He, thereafter, visited New Delhi in November 2008 to participate in the second BIMSTEC Summit. (ANI)

India in touch with Nepal on Mechi Bridge violence

New Delhi, June 1: India has said it was in touch with Nepal following violence at Mechi bridge on the border between the two countries on May 30. Indian authorities have also taken necessary steps to ensure security and to maintain law and order along the border, a foreign office spokesman said.
