SC issues show-cause notice to Mayawati

New Delhi, Jun 29: The Supreme Court on Monday, Jun 29 issued show-cause notice to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati for misusing the money for building statues and has also asked to sought a reply on the matter within four weeks.

SC to hear PIL against Maya on Jun 29

The Supreme Court on Monday, Jun 29 is said to hear a PIL against Mayawati, the chief minister of Uttar pradesh for misusing the public treasury for building statues in Lucknow.

The PIL has sought CBI probe against Mayawati for misusing crores of rupees of public money for installing statue on Monday, Jun 29.The PIL filed by Delhi-based advocate Ravi Kant is listed for hearing before a vacation bench comprising Justices Dalveer Bhandari and AK Ganguly.

While in Uttar Pradesh, the opposition parities have launched a tirade against the Mayawati for unveiling of the statues as an attempt to pre-empt the Supreme Court from putting it on hold.

Maya to reopen closed cases; Lawyers condemn

Pratapgarh, May 20: Counsels of the district today condemned the decision of newly elected Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati to reopen cases taken back during the regime of former chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, saying it was against the law. The counsels said such a decision will not only effect the law and order situation, besides, lengthening the court procedures but was also against Indian Criminal Procedural Code (CrPC). Nothing is going to happen to Mayawati. She will pull the case forever and it will not conclude at all She literally commercialised Taj Mahal corridor. Did anything happen?

How does it help if Mayawati prepones the unvieling of the statues? SC can always ask it to be removed. Bottom line, money has been wasted Mayawati will claim her supporters have installed the statues
