Cross-LoC firing in Poonch kills army soldier

Jammu, June 29 (ANI): A soldier was killed in firing from across the border at a forward post along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch District in the wee hours on Monday.

According to defence sources, Mohinder Singh of 8 Kumaon was killed in firing from across the border at Khari near Chakan-da-Bagh crossing point. (ANI)

Bhopal, Aug 29: At least six people were injured, one of them seriously, when a private gunman fired shots as state government employees were staging a rally near the state secretariat here this afternoon. Employees owing allegiance to Madhya Pradesh Class Three Government Employees Association President Ravindra Kalasia took out the rally after the Gwalior bench of the High Court issued an order in their ''favour''. Meghalaya police open fire

Shillong, Aug 20: Meghalaya police resorted to indiscriminate firing today to disperse an angry mob, which went on the rampage and torched three houses belonging to a tribal family, whom they suspected of practising witchcraft. The incident occurred at Mawbsein village in Ri-Bhoi district, about 50 km from here, when angry villagers torched the house and vehicles of the family, police said. Police, however, are yet to confirm any casualty in the firing. UNI.....

London, Feb 27 (ANI): In a unique solution to fight global warming, scientists have suggested firing trillions of mirrors into space to deflect the sun's rays forming a 100,000 square mile "sun shade".The trillions of mirrors would have to be fired one million miles above the earth using a huge cannon with a barrel of 0.6 miles across, astronomer Dr Roger Angel, at the University of Arizona, told the Telegraph.The gun would pack 100 times the power.....
