BJP slams Sibal's Education reforms

Murli Manohar Joshi
New Delhi, Jun 27: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday, Jun 26 slammed Human Resource Minter, Kapil Sibal's new education reforms by calling it 'directionless, illogical and impractical'.

Speaking to reporters, senior BJP leader, Murli Manohar Joshi said that though education is in the concurrent list, states had not been consulted by the minister and the states were not expressing confidence in going with the new proposed reforms.

"This is a federal government, a federal constitution.States have rights. Every state has different requirements and problems in education, especially in primary and secondary education," Mr Joshi, a former HRD minister, said.

Commenting on the 100 day plan of HRD ministry released in a 'hurry' by Kapil Sibal, MM Joshi said, "The requirement in North-East will not be there in Kerala... vocational education requirements in Gujarat will not be there in Rajasthan. And what is required there will not be required in Tamil Nadu".

He also went on to say that the UPA government now has to do something. And since it can't it will just end up destroying education.

Murali Manohar Joshi seems to gone out of his senses in calling 'India' and its constitution 'Federal' when it is 'Unitary'. And to think he has served as Education Minister with such ignorance would show how foolish he could be in directing policies. Thank God, who saved India from this ignorant man.
