India: Inflation stays negative, at -1.14pc

New Delhi, Jun 25: The Inflation rate in India stayed negative for the second consecutive week. The rate of inflation for the week ended Jun 13 stands at -1.14 percent.The rate of inflation for the week ended Jun 6 was -1.61 per cent. This shows that the inflation rose 0.6 per cent for the week ended Jun 13 leaving the benchmark wholesale-price inflation index at -1.14 per cent.

Official data indicates that the index for primary articles went up by 0.1 per cent, and that of fuel and power rose by 0.4 percent. For the manufactured products the index went up by 1 percent.

Steps taken to bring down Inflation: G K Pillai

Mumbai, Aug 22: Union Secretary for Commerce, G K Pillai on Friday, Aug 22 hinted a possible decline in inflation rate that touched a 13-year high of 12.63 per cent in the week ending August 9.
