Sarabjit case: Pak SC adjourns hearing till Jun 24

Islamabad, Jun 22: Pakistan's Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of a review petition challenging the death sentence given to Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh for his alleged involvement in the bomb blasts till Wednesday, Jun 24.

The three member bench that was to review the petition on Monday, Jun 22 issued a notice to Sarabjit's lawyer after he failed to appear in the court.

Sarabjit was sentenced to death for his alleged involvement in four bomb blasts of 1990 which reportedly killed 14 people in Pakistan. His execution was scheduled to happen in Apr 2008. However, this was was indefinitely deffered on the intervention of the Pakistani president Yousuf Raza Gilani. The matter has seen its share of on and off with political interruptions.

Burney on a mission to prove Sarabjit's innocence
