New Delhi, June 18 (ANI): Union Rural Development Minister, Dr. C.P. Joshi today assured support to Sikkim for the implementation of flagship programmes of the Government under the Ministry of Rural Development in the State.
He met State Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling here and discussed the progress of centrally sponsored Rural Development Schemes in the state specially the NREGA, the Indira Awas Yojna, the Rural Drinking Water Supply and the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
Chamling highlighted the efforts made by the state to implement the NREGA with its emphasis in the plantation sector and asked for generous support from the center.
Dr. Joshi assured him of full cooperation from centre in respect of timely aid by the Ministry and said that the efforts should be made to strengthen the implementation of NREGA and other schemes for the benefit of rural population. (ANI)
