Maoist Violence in Lalgarh
Kolkata, Jun 17: Three more Communist Party-Marxist (CPM) workers have been killed by suspected Maoist rebels in the clashes that continue to take place in the Lalgarh region.

Maoist violence continues to escalate in the state, as they have managed to gain support from the tribals and the villagers who have reportedly blocked roads to prevent security forces from entering the area.

The West Bengal Government on Tuesday, Jun 16 expressed concern over the attempts of the Police Santrosh Birodhi Janashadharaner Committee (PSBJC) [People"s Committee against Police Atrocities] to extend its influence to new areas. The PSBJC is a Maoist-backed local resistance group.Maoists have labeled the Lalgarh area as 'liberated' area, as hundred of the CPM workers have fled the region.

In an attempt to restore the region to normalcy, central paramilitary forces have been deployed to help the police.

Orissa police arrest three Maoists

Baripada, May 22: Mayurbhanj police have arrested three Maoists, the main suspects of May 8 murder of forester Ravindra Nath Patra in Orissa. The Maoist gunmen had attacked the Sargada forest beat and shot dead the forester under Rairangpur range. Police said the arrested Maoists were also allegedly involved in a landmine blast at Sargada- Chadheipahada Road on May nine. They have been identified as Shastri Nayak of Lado village, Matka Majhi alias.....
