Yashwant Sinha resigns from all BJP posts

New Delhi, Jun 13: Just a few minutes before Rajnath Singh was scheduled to address the media, senior leader of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yashwant Sinha reportedly resigned from all the party posts that he held.

Apart from giving up his post as the Vice President of the party, Sinha said that he has resigned from being in-charge of Karnataka affairs and as head of the Foreign Affairs Cell of BJP.

While addressing the media, Rajnath Singh said “I am yet to receive the resignation letter. When I get it I will read it."

The news that there was trouble brewing in the party following the debacle in the Lok Sabha polls was doing the rounds for some time now. Media reports suggested that the blame game among the party members got uglier by the hour and there was a disarray among the leaders of the party.

Rajnath Singh said that even though the results in the Lok Sabha Polls were against the expectations of the party, there was 'no disunity in the BJP'. And he claimed that news that BJP was falling apart were just speculations of  the media.

I will win the confidence vote: Yeddyurappa

Bangalore, Nov 18: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today said he was confident of winning the confidence vote in the one-day assembly session called for tomorrow. Speaking to news persons at the end of his meeting with JD(S) leader and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, the Chief Minister said there was 'no threat' to the 6-day-old BJP led government in the state. This comes in the wake of JD(S) insisting the BJP to sign the 12-point 'MoU' before it sought.....
