12 people killed as truck overturns in Gujarat

Amreli (Gujarat), Jan.13 (ANI): In a tragic incident 12 people were killed and six others left injured when a cement-laden truck overturned on the Badra-Hingorala Highway, 30 kilometres from Amreli District on Saturday morning.

According to local police officials, the tragedy incident occurred Saturday morning when the truck carrying labourers was going towards Kutch.

The wounded in the incident were rushed to district hospital for a medical treatment. (ANI)

Baghdad, Dec 30: A US soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in Baghdad, the US military said today, bringing the number of US military deaths in Iraq since the beginning of the war to at least 2,996. Hajipur (Bihar), Dec 30: At least 40 people were feared killed when a private bus jumped the rallings of Mahatma Gandhi Setu over the Ganga and plunged into the river early today. Colombo, Dec 29: Two people were wounded in a blast in a van on the outskirts of the Sri Lankan capital today, the military said. ''There was a van parked there, there was an explosion, we are investigating what actually happened,'' Brigadier Prasad Samarasinghe told Reuters.
