Palin terms Letterman's jokes as 'sexually perverted'

Washington, June 11 (ANI): Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called David Letterman's jokes about one of her daughters "disgusting" and "sexually perverted," taking a second swipe at the CBS "Late Show" host on Wednesday.

Palin called Letterman "pathetic" on Tuesday after the latter said the former sports a "slutty flight attendant look."

In an e-mailed statement, the Republican governor said: "Laughter incited by sexually perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us that some Hollywood/N.Y. entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands."

"That acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone's daughter, contributes to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others," Politico quoted the statement, as saying.

Palin's husband, Todd, added in the same statement that "any 'jokes' about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it, and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too."

Letterman joked on Palin's trip to New York last weekend on Monday night that during the seventh inning of the Yankees game "her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez."

Letterman followed up on the line Tuesday night, joking that "the toughest part of her visit was keeping former New York Governor Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter."

"I doubt he'd ever dare make such comments about anyone else's daughter," the governor added in her statement. (ANI)
